Boot Camp style workout focused on Strength & Conditioning to burn fat and build muscle, with a dose of corrective exercises to help combat those aches and pains. Participation will maximally enhance your fitness level by increasing strength, flexibility, balance and energy. The exercises change weekly and are optimized for a wide range of fitness levels.

Yoga for Strength & Energy

Sunday | 8:00AM - 9:15AM

Progressive Vinyasa Yoga is an energetic form of yoga where students fluidly move from one pose to the next, while connecting their breathing to their movements. It incorporates strength, flexibility, balance, cardio and physical and mental stamina in one session. As students grow with the practice, options are introduced to vary the types, intensity and duration of the poses and practice. Progressive Vinyasa Yoga incorporates regular sequences that become familiar to students, but incorporate variations to modify, intensify, or challenge the body by altering the pace or duration of poses, and the frequency that they are repeated. Students are welcome to try inversions and backbends using the yoga trapeze as a prop. Inversions are fun, full of health benefits, and empowering!

Progressive Vinyasa Yoga at Amherst Fitness

Yoga for flexibility and stress reduction

Sunday | 9:30AM - 10:30AM

This class is designed to reduce chronic pain and stress carried in the hips, spine, and shoulders and will focus on developing flexibility in these areas while integrating restorative practices to reduce stress. Building on yoga poses that reduce fatigue, sooth the adrenals and adjust the cortisol hormone, students will practice simple inversions and backbends for beginners. Students will experience increased flexibility over time and learn mindfulness techniques to reduce stress.
